One of the ways that I have been exploring my definitions project has been through the creation of plaster molds. I have made a frame, stretched a variety of different films across the opening of the frame. When the plaster is poured into the frame it slowly creates a sag in the middle of the films. This bulge forms an extremely subtle circle extending out of the center of the plaster form. When looking directly at the form you are not able to see the plaster subtly reaching out towards you, if you step to the side, they bulge is more defined, and you realize that a shape is present on what appears to be a flat surface. These are working images, that are far from complete, but are encouraging me to continue to pursue the process.
